DELAWARE, Ohio—Members of a local church were picking up the pieces after a suspect or suspects broke in overnight and made off with more than $1,000 that was collected for worthy causes.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Pastor Troy Palermo didn’t get a lot of sleep overnight Friday. He found out the hard way that even churches aren’t sacred when it comes to criminals.
“You’d like to think that people have more respect for a church than they would for other places, but obviously it’s a sign of the day in time we live in,” Palermo said.
A suspect or suspects broke into LifePoint Church on West William Street in Delaware at about 1:30 a.m.
The suspect(s) didn’t have to work hard to gain entrance: Palermo said the suspect took a landscaping stone and threw it through the front door.
Once inside the breezeway, the suspect(s) threw the stone through a second locked door to get into the main building.
